Latvia Inflation Rate at Over 1-1/2-Year Low of 2.1%
The annual inflation rate in Latvia dropped to 2.1 percent in November 2019 from 2.3 percent in the previous month. This is the lowest inflation rate since April 2018. On a monthly basis, consumer prices went down 0.3 percent, after increasing 0.4 percent in the previous month.

Latvia Inflation Rate Slows to Over 1-Year Low
The annual inflation rate in Latvia fell to 2.3 percent in October of 2019 from 2.6 percent in the previous month. This is the lowest inflation rate since May of 2018, as prices slowed for housing & utilities (3.6 percent vs 4.0 percent in September); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (4.6 percent vs 4.8 percent); recreation & culture (3.1 percent vs 4.6 percent); clothing & footwear (1.6 percent vs 1.8 percent) and miscellaneous goods & services (0.8 percent vs 1.0 percent). Also, cost dropped further for transport (-1.0 percent vs -0.2 percent) and education (-0.5 percent vs -0.4 percent). On the other hand, prices advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.6 percent vs 2.4 percent); health (2.2 percent vs 2.1 percent) and furniture & household equipment (2.9 percent vs 2.2 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.4 percent, after increasing 0.1 percent in the previous month.

The annual inflation rate in Latvia fell to 2.6 percent in September 2019 from 3.2 percent in the previous month. This is the lowest inflation rate since last December, as prices slowed mostly for food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.4 percent vs 4.5 percent in August); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (4.8 percent vs 5.6 percent); clothing & footwear (1.8 percent vs 3.5 percent) and restaurants & hotels (3.7 percent vs 4.5 percent). Also, prices dropped for transport (-0.2 percent vs 0.3 percent) and education (-0.4 percent vs 2.6 percent). On the other hand, cost advanced faster for housing & utilities (4 percent vs 3.9 percent); recreation & culture (4.6 percent vs 3.5 percent); health (2.1 percent vs 1.7 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (1 percent vs 0.7 percent) and furnishings (2.2 percent vs 1.8 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent, after increasing 0.2 percent in the previous month.

Latvia Annual Inflation Rate Rises to 3.2% in August
The annual inflation rate in Latvia rose to 3.2 percent in August 2019 from 2.9 percent in the previous month. Prices increased further for food & non-alcoholic beverages (4.5 percent from 4.2 percent in July); housing & utilities (3.9 percent from 2.6 percent); recreation & culture (3.5 percent from 3.1 percent); and clothing & footwear (3.5 percent from 2.7 percent). Also, cost of transport advanced 0.3 percent, rebounding from a 0.2 percent fall in July. Meanwhile, prices eased for furniture & household equipment (1.8 percent from 2.8 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (0.7 percent from 1.4 percent); and health (1.7 percent from 2.2 percent). Additionally, inflation was steady for alcoholic beverages & tobacco (at 5.6 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.2 percent, after declining 1.0 percent in the prior month.

The annual inflation rate in Latvia dropped to 2.9 percent in July 2019 from 3.0 percent in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since March, as prices slowed for housing & utilities (2.6 percent vs 4.3 percent in June) and miscellaneous goods & services (1.4 percent vs 1.8 percent) while transport cost fell (-0.2 percent vs 0.7 percent). On the other hand, prices advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (4.2 percent vs 4.1 percent); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (5.6 percent vs 4.8 percent); recreation & culture ( 3.1 percent vs 3.0 percent); clothing & footwear (2.7 percent vs 1.3 percent); furniture & household equipment (2.8 percent vs 2.6 percent) and health (2.2 percent vs 1.9 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.1 percent, after increasing 0.3 percent in the prior month.

Latvia Inflation Rate Slows to 3% in June
Latvia's annual inflation rate dropped to 3.0 percent in June 2019 from 3.3 percent in the previous month, reaching its lowest level since March. Prices slowed mostly for food & non-alcoholic beverages (4.1 percent vs 4.3 percent in May); housing (4.2 percent vs 5.1 percent) and transport (0.7 percent vs 3.6 percent). However, cost continued to advance for alcoholic beverages & tobacco (4.7 percent vs 4.6 percent); clothing & footwear (1.3 percent vs 0.2 percent); health (1.9 percent vs 1.8 percent); restaurants & hotels (4.8 percent vs 4.7 percent) and communication (1.9 percent vs 1.3 percent). Also, prices rebounded for miscellaneous goods & services (1.8 percent vs -0.1 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.3 percent, after increasing 0.2 percent in the preceding month.
